Many elderly people simply need a little help to stay at home

HomeSafe began in the year 2000, within the University of Iowa College of Nursing. Originally formed by nurses as a program to oversee case management, the HomeSafe program design was put together to serve elderly clients in the community.

No matter your age, HomeSafe can help

In the year 2004, HomeSafe separated from the University and is run by Cathy Tholen, who expanded the program in order to serve clients with all kinds of care needs. HomeSafe now provides care to anyone with a condition that requires in-home support.

Coordinated care means reliability

Cathy is HomeSafe’s Care Coordinator. An Iowa native with decades of care service behind her, Cathy worked in hospitals before transitioning into her current role. Cathy personally meets every new HomeSafe client and helps arrange a care plan tailored to the individual.
